Environmental Science is one of the many badges a scout must earn as they continue their path towards Eagle Scout. While working on Environmental Science, scouts will get the opportunity to conduct experiments, make observations, and take part in conservation projects to gain a better appreciation for the world around us. Environmental Science Merit Badge focuses on all parts of the ecosystem, endangered species, pollution, and conservation efforts to preserve our environment. Earning Environmental Science also fulfills requirements for the World Conservation Award and William T. Hornaday Award.
Scouts working on their Eagle Scout Rank may also earn Sustainability Merit Badge instead of Environmental Merit Badge to fulfill the rank requirement.
