Pictured Rocks Kayaking
NEW IN 2018
You will have the opportunity each day to discover the rich history of the area while kayaking along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Minimum Age: 14 years; NO exceptions, due to the upper body strength and physical endurance required for this high intensity trek.
Group sizes are still to be determined, but your unit must provide 2-deep Adult Leadership for each sub-group (campsite, etc.). We do not send camp staff on kayaking treks. You will have one guide from the kayaking out-rigger with your unit, but he/she does not count as 1 of your required adults.
Additional Requirement for Sailing and Kayaking (no exceptions): The troop must provide at least one adult leader with current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and CPR certifications. This is a national policy for High Adventure treks. For all other treks, Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan SR provides guides with necessary qualifications.
Trip offered: 5 days & 4 nights only; covers 35- 40 miles total.
The $125 deposit will be due February 18th, with the total cost the same as the Apostle Island Kayaking Trek. So, let us know soon if you are interested in more details!
